Vietnam to attend World Economic Forum annual meeting

 HANOI, Jan. 22 (Xinhua) -- A delegation led by Vietnamese Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Pham Binh Minh will attend the World Economic Forum (WEF) annual meeting from Jan. 22 to 24, said Pham Thu Hang, vice spokesperson of Vietnam's Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Thursday.

Hang made the announcement at a regular press briefing held in Vietnam's capital Hanoi.
The WEF annual meeting, scheduled for Jan. 21-24 in Davos, Switzerland, convenes under the theme "The New Global Context".

During the meeting, Vietnam will exchange views with world leaders about global political and economic issues, as well as ways to strengthen cooperation between Vietnam and its international partners and promote the image and development potential of Vietnam to the world, said Hang.

At the meeting, Minh will chair a dialogue session on Vietnamese economy with leaders of international companies, and participate in discussions on shaping the global food security agenda, agenda on the Association of Southeast Asian Nations ( ASEAN) and global political prospects in 2015, according to Hang.
