Harvest
In 1999 - the Indonesian forestry government (Perhutahni) decided to ban all future cuttings of Ebony logs from the area of Palu (North Sulawesi). The raw material supplier that we are using was before 1999 - in a possession of approx 8000 m3 - legal cutted Ebony logs. All those logs are already in stock, and are legalized by Perhutahni with all documentation on hand.
Processing
When the wood arrive - the raw material are graded, in thickness and length, and "cleaned" for defects. Then it is going to the kiln drying for around 1 to 1,5 month to obtain a humidity of 8 to 10 %. Further processing are trough, moulding machine, to process tannon and grove, and as final - trough the sanding machine, to get a total smooth surface, before packaging.
