Product detail:Canary Wood boasts extraordinarily handsome plumage - a yellow base with orange hues and occasional red bands, creating a striking rainbow effect. The wood is hard and heavy, yet is easily worked with sharp hand or power tools. These thin boards are machined S4S to 1/8" and 1/4" thicknesses, eliminating wear and tear on your planer. You wont have to worry about chipout, which is difficult to prevent when planing thin stock. Thin boards are ideal for edging, veneering, inlay, marquetry, sides for decorative boxes, bending stock, bent laminations and whatever else your imagination

Tree: Grows up to 100' tall with trunk diameters of 30" to 50", more commonly to heights of 40' and diameters to 16".
Sapwood: Yellowish.
Heartwood: Yellow/orange, sometimes featuring rich red streaks that create a "rainbow-hue".
Grain: Straight to irregular.
Texture and luster varies. as does the grain, straight to irregular.
Odor: Wood emits a distinctive odor when cut.
Natural Durability: Highly resistant to attack by fungi, termites, marine borers and other insects.
Common Uses: Used in furniture, cabinetry, veneer, flooring, heavy construction, ship components and any exterior application.
Working Properties: Easy to work with hand and power tools. Sands, glues and takes finish well. Pre-bore for fasteners.
