Large Superbly Ornate

This large extremely high quality silverplate tankard is decorated with a detailed relief lady on either side of the body, along with lots of ornate relief designs. It has a figural standing character on the lid holding a shield and torch. It has relief faces around the shoulder of the lid with a relief face on the handle. The whole piece is finished in a gold wash, including the interior and it is signed WMF on the base. It dates from the early part of the 20th Century and measures approximately 15 + ½ inches tall overall by 6 + ¾ inches across the base. It is in excellent condition with the exception of a very slight bend to the bottom half of the torch.
