This business started with the help of my family circle and fellow barangaymates. Our locality is abundant in raw materials of BURI tree and is known to be very a useful kind of plant amongst all others. The fruit, leaf, trunk and even roots can be converted into useful products. We gave an emphasis to the leaf of the buri tree since this is the part that is so renewable and has more potential when it comes to mass need of it for a mass production porpuse.
Most of the old women and mothers in our community are skilled in weaving. We then made use of the fine, smooth and durable leaf of Buri plant for making crafts like bags, envelopes, packaging, souvenir, hats and other more. The natural color of the buri leaf is from white to beige and can be dyed into different color tone by using eco-friendly fabric dyes.
It is the time that we must take our part in ECOISM. Be eco-friendly. Use earth-friendly biodegradable bags and packaging for your needs. Use what nature has to offer as we learn how to nourish it for our future needs. And besides they are renewable. Start the cycle of Renewing and Saving the Earth!!!
