The ring die pellet mill is different from the flat die pellet mill according to special shapes and 

design. It is mainly used large scale production of breeding processing, which is neither 

convenient to process feedstuff nor easy to recycle waste materials and can achieve the purpose of environmental 

protection.

 

 

 

What is working principle of the ring die pellet mill?

 

  With a ring shaped die and a set of rollers, the whole work process is vertical. The die is 

positioned vertically and the rollers are set within the die, which can apply to force the inner 

edge of the ring.Because of the vertical die and rollers set, a motor is demanded to put raw materials 

into the center of the ring die. However, most ring die pellet mills run by a driven ring and a stationary 

roller set while there is another choice of ring die pellet mill with a stationary die and roller rotating 

roller set. In a ring die pellet mill, the ring die suppress the rollers which apply pressure to the inner 

surface and compress materials through the outer surface of the die. With unique vertical design, 

materials are forced feed horizontally into the centre of the ring die in order to drive the pellets to fall

 away from the ring vertically. Of course, some small ring die pellet mills do the same processing;

 however they are not as popular as flat die pellet mill owing to their more complicated structures and 

higher prices and costs. Even so the ring die pellet mills have certain advantages and benefits over 

flat die pellet mills.

 

 

 

 

Advantages of ring die design:

  The ring die pellet mill driven by gear of advantage is far more positive driving force without the 

possible slipping of belt systems, which can produce pellets continuously. Nevertheless, it is not

 more economical with belt driven mills but much cheaper and easier to access to change gear. 

The speed of mill is controlled by the raw materials when the machine starts processing, for 

instance, one speed may be suitable for grass but not wood. The imported important elements

 are of excellent performance with long life and low maintenance cost.  Neither the key parts 

are made of ally steel that is strong and malleable nor the die is made of stainless steel which 

can improve the life of the pellet mill. Therefore, the ring die pellet machine has broadly been

 used in the granulation of wood, straw and many other agro-forestry wastes of the large-scale production with capacity of mill ranging from 200kg to 3t per hour.
