(1)The main producing areas of coffee in the world is usually located in the region between the north and south of latitude 25 degrees,We call it "coffee belt ", and our project in Phongsali province of Laos is located in the vicinity of 21 degrees north latitude,it consistent with the characteristics of low latitude of coffee growth.
(2)Phongsali is the most northern provinces of Laos ,it’s West and North are border on Yunnan, china,It’s a extended southward part of the western of Yunnan Plateau,the east border on Vietnam in Changshan mountains,therefore, the average elevation is above 1000 meters.usually,coffee is grown in 800 meters to 1500 meters altitude environment,So the altitude of Phongsaly province is good for the growth of coffee,some areas are more suitable for growing bourbon which is fine coffee.
Climate advantage
Phongsali province of Laos is in subtropical monsoon climate, the rainy season is annually from April to October and the annual rainfall is abundant.November to March is the dry season.In the dry season, the temperature in day and night is large difference.every day,there is dense fog in the morning. this climate is suitable for growth of ordinary and fine coffee varieties.

(1)Laos is one of the second poorest countries in Asia and the low -level developing countries in the world.80% of the territory is mountains and plateaus and many of them were covered by forests.So there are extensive slash-and-burn wasteland.
