Our Indonesian batik sarong collection contains Indonesian batik sarongs on printed Indonesian batik cotton with patterns based on traditional batik patterns from Java. The Indonesian batik sarong patterns are printed on a good quality cotton since they are intended to be worn as a long lasting batik sarong. The batik sarong colors are bright with colorfast dyes. The contemporary batiks below were made by hand with a copper printing block dipped in hot wax and then stamped on the fabric. When the fabric was dyed, the pattern was resisted by the wax. Each is a complete sarong length, and has natural irregularities throughout. Those pieces shown with a border portion have a layout similar to that at the right; others are patterned all over with the design shown.
