Pharmacological properties:

Levamisole is a broad spectrum anthelmintic of the imidothiaxole group. If couses irreversible paralysis and passive elimination of nematodes. At recommended doses, it is effective against mature and immature stages of a wide range of gastro-imtestinal and lung nematodes:

Indications and Dosage

Cattle: 3.5ml/ 50kg body weight.

Sheep: 1.75ml/ 25kg body weight.

Pigs:3.5ml/50kg body weight.

Dogs: 5ml/ 50kg body weight.

Fowls:0.25ml/kg body weight.

Plasma half-life

cattle 4-6 hours, sheep 3-4 hours,

dogs 1.8~4 hours,swine 3.5~6.8 hours

Target speies:

Pigs, poultry, cattle, sheep, goats.

Indication

For treatment and control of nematode infections.

Contra Indications

Simultaneous use with anthelmintics with a similar cholinomimetic mechanism of action (e.g, pyrantel, morantel, methyridine and diethylcarbamazine) may enhance the toxicity of levamisole and should be avoided.
