  1) Tungsten carbide substrate

Smart PDC cutter with grooves structure of tungsten carbide substrate, increase diamond binding surface, and improve the bond strength between tungsten carbide and diamond layer, thereby the probability of delamination of diamond and tungsten carbide is low.

The thermal expansion coefficient of carbide and diamond are not the same and carbide’ thermal expansion coefficient is about two times than diamond’s, and the dentate structure of tungsten carbide substrate has dispersed thermal expansion in multiple directions, reducing the thermal stress of PDC cutters, thereby reducing the probability of delamination. In addition the thermal stability of PDC cutters is greatly improved, and heat resistance is up to above 800 degree.

2)Diamond powder
