Palm Kernel Expeller is valuable in supplying protein and energy and is exported to Europe for feeding dairy cattle. Palm Kernel Expeller is also used as feed for swine, poultry, sheep and aquaculture.

Palm Kernel Expeller (PKE), sometimes referred as Palm Kernel Cake (PKC) is obtained from the extraction of palm kernel oil via the mechanical process. The production of PKE involves the grinding of palm kernel followed by screw processing with or without an intermediary flaking and cooking stages.

Malaysia has been the world largest producer and exporter of PKE and palm oil in the recent past. In the year of 2006, Malaysia produced 1.9 million tonnes of palm kernel oil and 2.2 million tonnes of PKE.
