- Tree Characteristics: The Kurupayra tree can reach a height of 80 feet. The diameter of its trunk is typically 2 to 3 feet.

- Color: Reddish-brown heartwood with near-black streaks, yellow-brown to light pink sapwood.
- Photosensitivity: Kurupayra is a photosensitive wood and will darken over time and exposure to light.
