The banjo is shipped without the bridge set in position. To set the bridge:
1. Loosen the strings.
2. Measure the distance from the nut to the center of the 12th fret.
3. Measure the same distance from the center of the 12th fret toward the head. Mark this position.
4. Replace the strings, with the bridge at the marked position.
5. Fine tune the bridge position by lightly pressing the strings of the 12th fret while picking. The harmonics should ring, when the bridge is correctly positioned.

You're now sitting comfortably with your banjo in your lap, and your picks are all properly fitted to your fingers. We're now ready to tune our banjo.
