Distribution: East Africa, Indo-Pacific.
Biotope: Coastal forests.
Size: Length of the front part of cephalothorax (head) up to 15 mm (5/8"). Medium to large, he will use shells up to 40 mm (1"5/8) opening.
Colour: Very varied, from very light to very dark (Grey, green-grey, brown grey, reddish-orange, red, white, pink, yellow, light to dark brown, black...) which often makes determination rather difficult, especially when juvenile.
