Because Rama do not trust that Goddess of Shinta still in a state of girl or maiden. To testify to the condition of x'self hence Goddess of Shinta conduct action by burning x'self into fire, if she burnt by the fire hence she have in a state of maiden do not or have girl do not again. But in the reality Goddess of Shinta not burnt by fire. Action Goddess of Shinta this is witnessed by Hanoman and of Rama alone.
