[Industry] Major industries are oil and gas exploration, small machinery manufacturing, textile, printing and dyeing, rice milling, timber processing, sugar, paper, fertilizer and pharmaceuticals. the first half of the fiscal year of 2007/2008, (April 2007-September) produced a total of 6.74 billion cubic meters of natural gas. For now it has developed 18 onshore fields, sea, land, three natural gas fields.

[Agriculture, Forestry, animal husbandry and fisheries] The area of arable land is 56.73 million acres in 2010. There are 371 dams ,among them 26 was under construction. The main crops are rice, wheat, corn, peanut, sesame, cotton, beans, sugar cane, oil palm, rubber, tobacco and jute ect.. Major Forest products:rosewood, thinwin, wenge, ebony, ironwood and other types of hardwood and rattan and bamboo.At the fiscal year of 2006/2007, timber exports of 30 billion kyat.

 

[Animal husbandry and fisheries] There are 144 aquatic products export company, and they export  aquatic products to 49 countries and regions. The value of seafood exports for the 2007/2008 fiscal year was $ 504 million.

 

[Tourism] In september 2009,there are 652 of the size of the hotel in Burma with 26,610 rooms. Famous hotels: Sedona Hotel in Yangon, Inya Lake Hotel, Traders Hotel, within all the wonderful multi-temperature Hotels, Sedona Hotel in Mandalay, Mandalay Hill Hotel, Bagan Dandai Hotel, Bagan Hotel and so on. According to the Myanmar Tourism statistics showed that in 2007, the Myanmar foreign tourists was about 31.4224 million. Tourism revenue was 19.1652 million U.S. dollars. It was estimated that there would be more than 300,000 people in 2010. (Source: Myanmar Ministry of Tourism statistics)

The financial financial Myanmar has five state-owned banks. Since 1992 ,it was allowed   private sector to run banks. In recent years, foreign banks has began to allow to set up a representative office in Myanmar. Myanmar has a total of 19 private banks, and 240 branches.
